Hobo: A hobo bag is usually slouchy with a scooped center and one strap that can be worn on the shoulder or across the back. The name has stuck regardless of the negative connotations of the term ‘hobo’.

Frame bag: A small, hard, decorative bag used for eveningwear that is held in the hand and meant only for your keys and some lipstick.

Barrel bag: The bag is the same shape as a duffle bag but is a smaller piece of luggage or a handbag.

Bowling bag: The rigid bag that is wide at the bottom and has a large arc opening at the top with two rigid straps. The bowling bag gets its name from the sport but is now used as a fashionable handbag.
